Ethan, a 7th grade student at Norfolk Collegiate, along with his mother Elaine, helped prepare ready-to-eat meals on two successive Saturdays. With their assistance we were able to prepare 96 quarts of Brunswick Stew and chicken, rice and mixed vegetable soup. This will be distributed from our food pantry to the low-income and transitional families we serve.

In addition, using his own money, Ethan prepared 25 Winter Warmth Kits to be used at the Winter Shelter March 8-15th housing Norfolk’s homeless during the winter. These kits included gloves, socks, hat, hand warmers, energy bar and an emergency sleeping blanket.

GAM helps Norfolk to connect with its marginalized, transitional, low-income and homeless residents through our food pantry, clothes closet, ID and Social Security card replacement assistance and on a case by case basis, rental and utility assistance. Click below to help us continue our 25 years of assistance!
