Gleaning Collards at Cromwell Farms

One of our partners, Foodbank of SE Virginia & Eastern Shore, offered us the opportunity to “glean” collards at Cromwell Farms in Virginia Beach. We got over 15 cases of collards and prepared 63 quarts of Smokey Sausage, Sweet Potato and Collard Soup. This is a dish loaded with flavor and nutrition and when paired with a staple such as rice, provides substantial assistance to single parents and low income families. Our volunteers enable us to do this.
